House of Leon Cracalia
Location: Cuza- Vodă Street, no. 41
Building constructed in the classic style, it falls among urban type of constructions in the second half of the 19th century. The building belonged to and was made under the command of Captain Leon Cracalia, participant in the War of Independence (1877- 1878) in the 10th Regiment of Putna, under the command of Major George Şonţu.
Structurally “the building falls under dwellings on one level, with rooms arranged on either side of a corridor. The main body highlights the entrance posing as dominant element a classical gable decorated with coat of arms and ionic semi engaged columns. The interior is distinguished by its wooden doors with carved gables depicting the “shell” theme.” (National Cultural Heritage built in Vrancea County – Museum of Vrancea).
