Built up in the north of Focșani by the inhabitants of slums “Ocol and Arion”, the place of worship currently has its residence on Indepedenței Boulevard. The church “Sf. Apostoli” began its construction in 1850, during the reign of Prince Ghica. Despite the initiation of the project in 1850, the church in question required a further intervention in 1861, to resume all construction work that had gone into stagnation.
Structurally “the church is constructed to the hull of a ship with enclosed porch, with two spires on both sides of the porch, narthex, nave and altar. The spire on the north side houses the staircase, a wooden spiral which connects the upper tower, the interior is covered by hemispherical domes. The facades are devoid of decorations. The entrance is marked by a semi-circular arch. Under the cornice of the altar there are five rectangular oriels.” (National Cultural Heritage built in Vrancea County – Museum of Vrancea).
