House of Dr. Saideman - County Department for Culture, Vrancea

Location: Nicolae Titulescu Street, no. 1
Dated 1914, the building belonged to radiologist Dr. Saideman (graduate from studies in Vienna) and is part of the architectural systematization period and flourishing of the city of Focșani, at which time it was called “Little Bucharest”.
Structurally “the facades present windows with vegetal frames, having a gable with coat of arms at the top, made in stucco. The main facade highlights the entrance finished in a semi-circular arch in the style “Secession”. The cornice is punctuated by consoles and the roof is equipped with skylights. In the four corners there were placed four masonry florets, decorated by coat of arms in stucco.” (National Cultural Heritage built in Vrancea County – Museum of Vrancea).
The building was sold to the state in 1968, becoming the property of the City Council and in 1978 it is ceded to the County Committee for Culture and Socialist Education Vrancea. After 1990, this building houses the School of Arts, and currently it is the headquarters of the County Department for Culture, Cults and National Heritage Vrancea.
