Location: Cuza-Vodă Street, no. 8
The building falls under the category of administrative buildings, constituting an edifice built in 1909 in the Romanian style of the architecture school represented by Petre Antonescu and Ion Mincu. The design plans were made by the architects Alexander Clavel and Constantin Băicoianu. Opened in 1912, the building was constructed at the initiative of the Prefect of Putna - P. Panaitescu who had taken the necessary steps to acquire the construction site called “Chetrele de moară” since 1908.
Structurally “the building is of rectangular shape, with the longer side located on the main street, with basement, ground floor and first floor. The main facade highlights the withdrawn inward entry with marble staircase under an arch supported by two columns. Above the entrance it was located the clock tower. The facades are decorated with horizontal string course punctuated by fretted light shafts. The roof is made in the Romanian style pierced by roof lights.” (National Cultural Heritage built in Vrancea County – Museum of Vrancea).
