Alaci House, currently the history department of the Vrancea Museum, a historical monument of the IMO code VN-II-m-B-06430, was built by a family of Armenian Targovists. Designed in eclectic style at the end of the 19th century, this architectural work gives a distinct note to the city, representing one of the exponents of a elitist and established society at that time.
The Museum of History includes collections of archeology that illustrate human experience in these lands from time immemorial. The historical periods represented are prehistory, antiquity, the Middle Ages, continuing until the twentieth century, the first half. There are rich collections of archeology (Cucuteni neolithic pottery, Dacian treasures and Romanes). The archaeological material of the medieval period is supplemented by documents, stamps, and maps meant to fill the image of the Focşani and the county's role in the medieval history of Romania.
